Research Supervision.

My collaboration with research student colleagues is guided by two principles:

• MPhil or PhD completion is not the end goal. Their lifelong careers are the end goal. I work with them to ensure that their research studies will contribute to their lifelong careers in either academia or industry. Thus, I ensure that they will be equipped with knowledge and skills to succeed in their lifelong careers.

• It is important to build a "toolbox" by engaging in research projects besides their MPhil and PhD. I acknowledge the challenges that research student colleagues experience, including the lack of theory and methods classes that guide their research endeavors and the lack of funding for data collection. Therefore, I invite them to be involved in the research projects for which I have already collected data as well as those that are still in the research designs stage. This will help them build the "toolbox" they need to complete their MPhil or PhD and lead their own research projects in the future. ​

To date, I have published 7 journal articles and two book chapters with student colleagues during their studies. ​My student colleagues and I have also won two Top Paper Awards from conferences.
